Terms
Terms of use
These terms describe what Waykaro does, what it does not do, and what you agree to when you use it — whether you are booking, or listing a business.

What Waykaro is
Waykaro is a travel booking platform. It sells flights worldwide as a travel agent, and it lists places to stay and vehicles for hire across Liberia, passing your booking request to the business that owns them. Stays and car rental are not open for booking while we verify the first partners; the clauses about them below apply to reservations already made and to the day they reopen.
Waykaro does not own, run or manage any hotel, guesthouse or vehicle. When you book, your agreement for the stay or the hire is with that business directly. Waykaro’s role is to introduce you to each other, take the request, and keep a record of it.
Booking a flight
Waykaro is a travel agent, not an airline. A flight you book here is carried by the airline whose name is on the ticket, under that airline’s own conditions of carriage and fare rules. Waykaro does not fly aircraft, does not decide schedules, and cannot overrule an airline’s decision about your ticket.
The names, dates of birth and travel document details you enter are printed onto the ticket by the airline exactly as you type them. It is your responsibility to enter them as they appear on the passport you will travel on, and to hold the visas, permits and health documents the countries on your itinerary require. An airline may refuse to carry a passenger whose ticket does not match their passport, and a ticket issued in the wrong name is not our error to bear.
A flight is confirmed when the airline issues the ticket, not when the card is charged. In the rare case where a payment succeeds and the airline then refuses the booking, the money is held and Waykaro contacts you within one working day to either book you onto another flight for the same money or return all of it.
What a flight costs
Before you pay, the price is itemised into the airline fare including taxes and carrier charges, the Waykaro service fee, and the card processing charge. The total shown is the amount your card is charged. If the airline moves the fare while you are filling in the form, we stop and show you the new total before anything is booked.
Card payments for flights are taken by Duffel Payments in their own form. Waykaro does not see, hold or store your card number.
Cancelling or changing a flight
The airline’s fare rules decide how much of the fare can be refunded, and on many fares that is little or nothing. What can never be refunded is set out plainly here:
If you cancel, the Waykaro service fee and the card processing fee are not refunded. The service fee paid for making the booking, and that work has been done; the card processing charge is kept by the payment provider when a refund is issued and cannot come back.
Where the airline settles a refund to Waykaro rather than to your card, Waykaro pays it on to you and will contact you to arrange it. It is not instant. The full explanation, including changes and what happens when an airline cancels on you, is on cancellations and refunds.
Making a stay or car rental booking
A booking request is not a confirmed booking. The property or rental company reviews each request and either confirms or declines it. You can see which has happened at any time by opening the link on your confirmation page, using your booking reference.
Prices shown are the price for the dates and options you selected, in US dollars, at the moment you asked. A business sets its own rates and can change them for future dates. A confirmed booking keeps the price it was confirmed at.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the name, email address and phone number you give us. They are how the property reaches you, and a wrong number is the most common reason a booking falls apart.
Paying
A booking is paid in two parts. You pay a service fee to Waykaro when you book, by card or from an Orange Money or MTN MoMo wallet, and you pay the property’s or rental company’s own price to them in person, on arrival or at pick-up. The booking page shows both amounts, and the total of the two, before you pay anything.
The service fee is added to the price the business sets, and paying it is what reserves your room or vehicle. It is Waykaro’s charge for the booking service. The business keeps the price it advertised in full, so the service fee is the difference between that price and the total you see at checkout.
The service fee is the only money Waykaro collects. We never take the room rate or the rental rate, and we never hold money on behalf of a property or a rental company. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your card number.
If you pay by mobile money, you send the fee from your own handset to the Waykaro wallet number shown on your booking page, and then give us the transaction reference. We never ask for your PIN, and nobody at Waykaro can move money out of your wallet. We check the payment against our own wallet statement before your booking goes any further, so there is a short wait that a card payment does not have. Your room or vehicle stays held for you while we check.
A transaction reference can only be used once. If we cannot find your payment on our statement we will tell you why, and your booking stays unpaid rather than being cancelled straight away, so you can put it right.
Until the service fee is paid, your room or vehicle is only held for a short time and the business has not been told about your request. If the fee is not paid within that time the hold is released and the dates go back on sale.
If the property or rental company cannot take your booking, the service fee is refunded to you. A card payment is refunded automatically to the same card. A mobile money payment is sent back by hand to the wallet number you paid from, which takes a little longer. The cancellation page sets out both, and what happens if you are the one who cancels.
The only wallet number to pay is the one shown on your own booking page on this website. Anyone who sends you a different number, by message or by phone, in order to secure a Waykaro booking is not acting for us, even if they use our name. We will never phone or message you asking you to send money somewhere else, and we will never ask you for your wallet PIN. Please tell us if that happens.
Mobile money can be used for the service fee only. The balance is always settled with the business directly, in whatever way that business accepts. We do not collect it and we cannot take it by wallet on their behalf.
Changes and cancellations for a stay or a vehicle
How to change or cancel a stay or car rental booking, and what a business may charge you for doing so, is set out on the cancellation page. Flights are different and are covered by cancellations and refunds above.
In short: you may cancel a reservation yourself from your account until eight hours before you arrive or collect. After that, or if you booked without an account, ask us or the business and we will cancel it for you. Dates cannot be changed by you in either case. The service fee is not refunded when you cancel.
Guest accounts
You do not need an account to book. If you choose to make one, keep your password to yourself: anyone signed in to your account can see and cancel the reservations it holds. Reservations appear in an account when they were made with that account's confirmed email address.
We may suspend or remove an account that is used to make reservations nobody intends to keep, or to interfere with someone else's.
Listing a business
If you apply to list a property or a fleet, you confirm that you are entitled to rent it out, that the details and photographs you upload are your own and are accurate, and that you will honour bookings you confirm.
Every listing is reviewed by Waykaro before it appears publicly, and we may decline or remove a listing. Listing is free, and we take no commission on your rate: the guest pays you for their stay or rental in full, directly, and you keep all of it. The reservation fee the guest pays Waykaro to make the booking is separate money, paid by the guest and not deducted from yours.
If we ever decide to charge partners a commission we will give you at least ninety days' written notice before it starts, and it will never be applied to a booking taken before it takes effect. Your full terms as a partner are set out in the partner agreement you accept when you apply.
You are responsible for your own licences, taxes, insurance and, for vehicle hire, for verifying that a driver holds a valid licence before handing over a vehicle.
Reviews
Only a guest with a real booking reference can leave a review, and only after the stay. We may remove a review that is abusive, is not about the stay, or identifies other people.
What we are not responsible for
Waykaro is not responsible for the condition of a property or vehicle, for the conduct of a business or a guest, or for a business declining or cancelling a booking. We do not guarantee that a listing will be available, and we do not inspect every property.
We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free.
Using the site fairly
Do not make bookings you do not intend to keep, submit false details, attempt to access another person’s booking, or use automated tools to collect data from the site. We may refuse service or remove an account for any of these.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use Waykaro after a change means you accept the updated version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Liberia, and the courts of Liberia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
